📅 Dates: April 4th – April 8th, 2025
📍 Venue: Mang’u High School
🏆 Host: Kiambu County Chess Association under Chess Kenya Federation (CKF)
Who Can Participate?
👦🏽👧🏽 Open to students who participated in official regional qualifiers
🎓 Age categories: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, and U17 (Boys & Girls)
🏅 National champions from previous editions automatically qualify
🌍 Foreign national residents may participate but won’t be eligible for the national title
Key Dates:
📝 Registration Deadline: March 31st, 2025, at 6:00 PM
🚗 Arrival: April 4th, 2025
📣 Technical Meeting: April 5th, 7:30 AM
♟️ Rounds 1–9: April 5th – 7th
🏅 Prize Distribution: April 7th, 5:00 PM
🚀 Departure: April 8th, 2025
Registration & Fees:
💰 Players: Ksh. 1,500
👨👩👧👦 Accompanying persons (Parents, coaches, etc.): Ksh. 500
🆕 Non-CKF members pay an extra Ksh. 350
🏠 Accommodation (optional): Ksh. 800 per day (full board) or a one-time amenities fee of Ksh. 500 for external stay
Tournament Format:
♟️ 9-round Swiss system, played under FIDE laws
⏳ Time control: 90 minutes per player
🚨 Default time: 30 minutes
Prizes & Recognition:
🏆 Trophies, medals, and merit certificates for top three players in each category
🇰🇪 National Champion title & international event invitation for category winners
🏫 Best performing schools (Primary & Secondary) will be awarded
Important Notes:
🎽 Formal school uniform is mandatory. Special CKF T-shirts available for non-school players
