Chess Kenya is proud to announce the National Trials for the 2nd Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities, to be held on:

⏰ Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📍 Venue: To Be Announced
🎟️ Entry: FREE
🕒 Time Control: 25 minutes per player

🌍 About the Olympiad:

This prestigious event, organized by FIDE and hosted by the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, will take place from October 19–26, 2025 in Astana, Kazakhstan. It reflects FIDE’s global commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in chess.

Kenya is preparing to proudly field a team to compete against 34+ international teams, each composed of players with various disabilities: visual, hearing, and physical impairments.

🧩 Team Composition

Kenya’s team will consist of:

• 1 player with a physical disability (male or female)

• 2 players with hearing impairments (1 male, 1 female)

• 1 player with a visual impairment (male or female)

• 1 coach

• 1 accompanying person

🔹 Categories for Qualifiers:

• ♿ Physically Challenged

• 🦯 Visually Impaired

• 🧏 Deaf

Players will compete in mixed-gender events within their category.
