Chess Kenya is pleased to announce a FIDE Arbiters Seminar to be held from 23rd to 25th May 2025 in Mombasa, Kenya, during the Africa Schools Individual Chess Championships.

This seminar provides a valuable opportunity for National Arbiters to acquire the FIDE Arbiters Seminar norm, which is a mandatory requirement for those aspiring to become FIDE Arbiters.

We have secured a reduced seminar fee to encourage more arbiters to take this critical step in their chess officiating careers.

Seminar Details:

  • Dates: 23rd, 24th & 25th May 2025

  • Venue: Pride Inn Resort, Mombasa, Kenya

  • Format: Physical Attendance

  • Lecturer: IA Chanda Nsakanya (International Arbiter – Category A)

  • Entry Fee: USD 100 or KES 13,000

About the Lecturer:

IA Chanda Nsakanya is a Category A International Arbiter, FIDE Lecturer, and a member of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission. His vast experience includes serving in several prestigious events:

  • Chief Arbiter – Africa Youth Chess Championship 2024

  • Deputy Chief Arbiter – FIDE World Senior Team Chess Championship 2025

  • Arbiter – 45th World Chess Olympiad, 2023 FIDE World Rapids, and 2023 FIDE World Cup
