The African Youth Chess Championship 2026 will take place in Entebe, Uganda from 14th to 23rd May 2026. This premier continental event brings together top young chess players from across Africa, offering a platform to compete at a high level, gain international exposure, and develop their chess careers.
The championship is open to eligible players, including those who have attained at least 5 points in qualifying events or have secured private sponsorship. Kenya will be represented by both sponsored players (mainly national champions) and additional privately sponsored participants, providing wider opportunities for participation.
